Face it, the most important files on your computer are the ones you have created.
You have spent many hours, creating those files. You owe it to yourself to protect those files. If you don't, just think of all the hours that it would take to recreate it all.

With today's computers and the increased size of hard drives with capacities of 150GB and more it's impossible to back up the entire drive.

The best strategy now is to just make backups of your personal files. These would include financial records, manuscripts and any other files which you have created.
The point is that you must be prepared for the inevitable. Sooner or later your computer will likely stop running.

NOW.... You might start by thinking about how protect yourself in case of disaster.
